Deptford Parks Art Trail - Update II

Continued work for on 19 postmounted artworks which will be installed throughout Deptford. Before being assembled into the final pieces, these (100+) aluminum parts have gone through the following process:

First, each aluminium shape is sanded and spray-primed twice before being painted with another two coats of acrylic primer. After this the base colour is painted onto the shapes. Typically this is one block colour, but sometimes an acrylic spray paint is also used to add some tone.

Next the line work which has been printed onto a special type of film, is exposed and screen printed over the prepared surface.

Those are the main steps, with lots of cleaning inbetween and many, many coats of varnish at the end.
